GEMS – Operation Christmas Child ***UPDATE***

We have just received word from Samaritan’s Purse regarding where the shoeboxes our GEMS program collected were sent. You can click on each countries name to find out more about Operation Christmas Child’s ministry to that area: Ghana; Gabon; Botswana; and Rwanda.

Over the last several weeks, our GEMS (Girls Everywhere Meeting the Savior) program collected donation items for Operation Christmas Child. Nineteen girls showed up on November 19th to help pack and deliver these items. Our girls met and EXCEEDED their goal and donated 204 shoeboxes!!!! Upon arriving at the donation center the girls continued their service by loading the shoeboxes on a truck, making cards and notes to send in boxes, making and decorating toy wooden tops, watching a video and packing some additional boxes there.
Way to go GEMS! We are so proud of you!!!!!

CEC for Life Scarves
Hey everybody! If you’re headed to the March for Life in January, be sure to grab an All Life Is Sacred Scarf! It’ll keep you warm, help you spot your friends, AND support the work of CEC for Life!Orders must be placed by the first week of December. Scarves are $15 each. Scarves can be picked up from Jamie LeGrand Sunday night at the CEC for Life Youth Rally at the Holiday Inn Capitol.

Women’s Christmas Brunch
Please join us and celebrate the true reason for the season with other women this December 10th, Saturday, from 11:30 – 4:00. We will be gathering at Elisa’s Restaurant located at 2675 N. Jerusalem Rd. in North Bellmore (516) 679-4805. The cost is $30.00…bring a friend or relative..sign up with green envelopes.

Women’s Thanksgiving Potluck
Women’s Ministry of Intercessor is hosting a Pot Luck Thanksgiving. The date is November 19th…the time is 5 – 8 p.m. and the place is the Parish Hall of the Cathedral. It is the season of giving and we have all been given so much. Come and share with other women. FAITH – FOOD – FELLOWSHIP and FUN. Sign up in the lobby to bring appetizer, entree or dessert. There will be a free will offering…proceeds going to our CEC Bishops in Africa. Look forward to seeing you there!!
Father/Son Bowling
All men with sons between the ages of 6 and 11 years old are invited to a day of bowing and pizza at San Dee Lanes Bowling located at 342 Hempstead Avenue in Malverne on November 13th at 2pm. Cost is $12/person and includes 2 games of bowling, shoes, pizza, and soda! At this event you will learn about the relaunching of our Boys Brigade program here at Intercessor! Sunday School – HomeFront Weekly

Men’s Breakfast – October 22nd
We will be having our Men’s Ministry kick off breakfast in the parish hall on Saturday 10/22 from 9:00AM to 11:00AM. Cost is $10.00. Come hear what it means to be a strong man of God and how to take the first step in becoming the spiritual giant the Lord wants you to be. If you are currently in a battle group or would like to find out how to join one don’t miss this event. We will be starting our Fall Series on the book of Galatians and the books are available and ready to go. I look forward to seeing you all there.
