Father/Son Bowling

All men with sons  between the ages of 6 and 11 years old are invited to a day of bowing and pizza at San Dee Lanes Bowling located at 342 Hempstead Avenue in Malverne on November 13th at 2pm.  Cost is $12/person and includes 2 games of bowling, shoes, pizza, and soda!  At this event you will learn about the relaunching of our Boys Brigade program here at Intercessor!  Please contact Steve Kroner at 347-785-2028 or Noel Skelton at 631-539-7806.

Follow the Star

If you are wise, you will follow the star on Saturday night over to the Cathedral lawn where you’ll see wonderous things at the Living Nativity, as well as hear a great outdoor Christmas choir concert.

The Living Nativity begins this Saturday 6:30PM following the Malverne tree lighting ceremony by the Malverne train station which begins at 5:00PM.   Friends and family will be walking about the town of Malverne as the town closes off the traffic and opens up the streets to people and festivities for the night during its annual celebration.  So come out for a festive time and wonderous sights as the Advent season is here.

Vacation Bible Experience (Formerly VBS)

This year we will be joining Grace Lutheran Church for their Vacation Bible Experience again!  The children and volunteers that participated last year really enjoyed the program and I am sure will enjoy it again!  The dates this year are July 12 -16 from 6:00 to 8:30 (with an optional dinner at 5:30).  Below is some preliminary information on what volunteers are needed and how to sign-up:

Sign-up:

• It’s for all ages- there is an early childhood program for children going into PreK and kindergarten, a children’s program for kids going into grades 1-5, and an adult program; youth 6th grade+ are crew leaders for the children’s programs or (if they are in high school) they may choose to attend the adult program. Childcare is available for younger children whose parents attend the adult program (by prearrangement).

• It’s open to anyone- invite your friends and neighbors

Volunteers Needed

• Bible station (skit and story telling based)
• Game station
• Craft station
• Snack station (help kids prepare their own snack that ties in with the day’s story)
• Video station
• 4 and 5 year old program
• Childcare
• Worship leading (sing, play an instrument, help run power point/CD player, and/or teach simple motions to songs)
• Mission offering collector (tells about the mission)
• Photographer
• Registration
• Cleanup/kitchen crew
• Decoration (happens the week beforehand)
• Publicity (happens starting now– word of mouth, emails, posters around churches schools, town businesses, etc.)
• Fundraising (so we can offer the program free)

Living Nativity

Men, women, and children are needed to joyfully serve as we witness to the birth of Christ on Saturday, December 5th during the Malverne Tree Lighting Festival.  It will be a joyful, fun-filled time and a great opportunity to serve others and witness to the gospel.

Actors, Builders, Beverage Servers, Cookie Bakers and other Volunteers are being called for to join the team.

A group of young Intercessors will represent our church at the West Hempstead Fair this Sunday afternoon, October 4th by Nassau Blvd. near Halls Pond Park.

Come on out and support our youth as they participate in a local town outreach.

Eisenhower Park Church Picnic

It that time Come on out to Eisenhower Park for Church of the Intercessor’s annual picnic, on Sunday, September 6th, officially starting at 1pm, but you can arrive earlier!

Invite friends, neighbors and family!  Let the games begins!!

Summer Concert on the Lawn

Come out on Sunday afternoon, August 16th, to enjoy a jazz and choir concert, with Robbi K and Friends – featuring Brian Carrott, and Church of the Intercessor choir.

Bring a blanket or chair, invite friends and family, as we host this special event that we hope becomes an annual event.
