Recovery
Steps to Freedom
From Friday, November 12 through Sunday, November 14, 2010, Steps toFreedom is being offered as a weekend ministry workshop. This is a first-timeopportunity to participate in a shortened format, which will replace the 12 to 13-week course which had been conducted by the Steps to Freedom team: PaulaHinton, Mary Person, & Bob Stern.
Steps to Freedom is a healing/counseling ministry in which strongholds areaddressed. This ministry is based on the work of Dr. Neil Anderson, whoauthored the books, Victory Over the Darkness and The Bondage Breaker.Over the course of the weekend, the breaking of strongholds will be explained. For those individuals who have had significant childhood trauma (family of originaddictions and mental illness; sexual, physical, and/or emotional abuse; domesticviolence, etc., a period of ministry may be needed before the actual steps tofreedom can be completed.
This new format is part of an eventual plan to create a flow among the healing ministries of the Cathedral Church of the Intercessor. Steps to Freedom, Overcomers, and the Wounded Healers Ministry provide a variety of means to reach the same goals, which are for healing and wholeness for followers of Christ.
Please sign up for Steps to Freedom using the green envelope. There will be a charge of $25 for materials.
Steps to Freedom will be offered two times a year: Spring and Fall.
Overcomers
The Overcomers Program uses the 12 steps of recovery from a biblical perspective as a means of achieving victory over life-controlling problems and other strongholds. Unlike many recovery programs that gather around a particular addiction or issue, Overcomers is designed to encompass various types of addictions and problems. Overcomers has helped persons struggling with overeating, sexual addiction, alcoholism, other substance addiction, codependency, to name a few. If you are burdened by any obsessive, compulsive, and/or impulsive behavior or pattern of thinking, Overcomers can support you in finding victory through an intimate relationship with the Trinity. Overcomers meet on Mondays at 7:30pm in the Parish Hall. Hope to see you soon!
AA Meeting
traditional AA meeting. Fridays at 7:30pm in the Parish Hall.
